FRESHDATA was founded in 2022 as a spin-off of the METU Communication Networks Research Group (CNG). FRESHDATA turns world-leading communications research into disruptive advanced technology for the scale-up of terrestrial and Space-based IoT. Since we established we filed 19 patents that can impact 6G, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and Space communication standardization. Our first flagship product is the LPWAN Tunneling Relay, based on one of our pending patents, powered by our trademark FRESHIoT protocol, which is the world’s first age-aware LoRa. The FRESHDATA relay will stand out in the emerging LPWAN relay market by its energy efficiency, backward compatibility, and its ability to support a larger number of IoT devices. FRESHDATA brings together a team at the frontier of semantic and goal-oriented communication research as well as implementation and prototyping of wireless multiuser systems. We also have two industry-leading advisors, from whose experience we benefit greatly.
The Profile We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Hardware and Embedded Systems Engineer with experience in the following areas to actively participate in our projects and carry out embedded software, hardware design, testing, and integration work. (We are looking for a team member who lives in Ankara or is willing to relocate there.)
Responsibilities
- Execution of hardware design and PCB development processes (Altium, KiCad).
- RF design (impedance matching, testing and verification processes, familiar with CST software).
- Embedded systems development (working with microcontrollers such as STM32, nRF).
- Execution of RF device testing and measurement processes (spectrum analyzer, VNA, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an engineer in hardware design and embedded system development.
- Experience in component supply and procurement.
- Experience with PCB layout guidelines and standard processes.
- Experience in design verification and active use of the required laboratory equipment (Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Power Profiler, etc.).
- Proficiency in engineering processes, with experience in system requirement definition, analysis, design, development, testing, and integration.
- Ability to perform documentation and process tracking.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
- Basic signal processing and analog/digital circuit design knowledge.
- English proficiency (language score (any) required).
- Open to learning/teaching and a problem-solving approach.
- Adapting to startup dynamics by flexibly taking on tasks across different projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with communication protocols such as LoRa, LRFHSS, or NB-IoT.
